Barbara Schmick studied photography at The School of Visual Arts and The New School and was an active member of Advertising Photographers of America and Professional Women Photographers in New York City. As a Manhattan-based photographer with a professional studio in SOHO, Barbara developed her multi-faceted point of view shooting a wide range of subject matter from cityscapes to boardrooms, from artistic nudes to household pets.

In 2005, drawn by its beauty and people, she moved to the Berkshires. As a member of the Columbia County Council on the Arts, she exhibited in Artswalk 2006 in Hudson, NY. Barbara is also a past member of the Woodstock Artists Association. Her landscape photography has been displayed at Chrysalis of Troy in Troy, NY and The Muddy Cup in Hudson, NY.

Barbara now lives in Pittsfield, MA with her husband, Bill, and their chocolate lab, Titus.  She is working on a new exhibit of landscape photos of Pittsfield and surrounding areas.
